Transformers: Bumblebee

A reel containing the work of Scanline VFX. Check my Showreel later for my individual shots.

Bumblebee is the first spin-off in the Transformers-Series that focuses on the titular Autobot, and also the first film in the series not being orchestrated by director Michael Bay, but his oscar-nominated colleague Travis Knight.

I was lucky enough to contribute to this project as an animation artist during at Scanline VFX Munich. I was working on character sequences in the final fight between Bumblebee and Shatter, while also doing bits of technical animation on her Decepticon-friend Dropkick, some vehicles and other destructions in the same sequence.

Synopsis:
“On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.”

The film premiered on December 20th 2018 worldwide.
